Simon’s project experience includes planning and managing marine resource assessments in both the Caribbean and Indo-Pacific; fisheries monitoring for industrial and subsistence fisheries; Marine Protected Area planning and monitoring; socio-economic assessments of coastal communities; environmental education and capacity building; coral bleaching and disease assessment; phytoplankton monitoring and assessment of coral reef epilithic algae.

Simon has worked with a range of clients and project partners, including international NGO’s, local and national government departments and institutes, international bodies and academic institutions.

Specialist areas of expertise are coral reef resource and biodiversity assessments, marine conservation planning and habitat mapping, traditional fisheries monitoring, MPA designation and monitoring for community-based management, environmental training and awareness programmes for local stakeholders and counterparts and providing marine conservation and fisheries policy advice.
