3rd July 2013, London - A landmark meeting was held at the University of Exeter on 26 June 2013, bringing together eminent academics specialising in the evaluation of complex systems with representatives from the Population-Health-Environment (PHE) community. The aim was to explore some methods that could be used to capture the complexity of integrated PHE programmes.

1st July 2013, Belo sur Mer, Madagascar - Following a reproductive health needs assessment conducted earlier this year, Blue Ventures is launching a community health programme in the Belo sur Mer area, integrating closely with on-going marine conservation initiatives. The programme will initially reach 8,000 people across 10 villages, and represents the first replication of Blue Ventures’ award-winning Population-Health-Environment (PHE) approach beyond the Velondriake area. 


21st May 2013, London - Blue Ventures launches a fundraising campaign with the aim of supporting 200 bright young people in Velondriake, southwest Madagascar, to attend school throughout the next academic year. The scholarships programme is an essential part of Blue Ventures' approach to investing in people, building local expertise and nurturing marine conservation from the grassroots.


9th April 2013, Brussels, Belgium - As negotiations on the reform of the European Union's Common Fisheries Policy, or CFP, enter the final and decisive stage, more than 217 civil society groups are calling on EU fisheries ministers to support an end to overfishing and the speedy restoration of fish stocks.

26th March 2013, Madagascar - Blue Ventures is responding to tropical cyclone Haruna, the biggest cyclone to hit southwest Madagascar in more than 35 years, by distributing vital health supplies to affected communities in the Velondriake area.
