2nd June 2014, London, UK - Dr Vik Mohan is going to talk about Blue Ventures' integrated approach to conservaton at the next Anglo-Malagasy Society meeting on Wednesday June 25th.
Vik Mohan, Blue Ventures Medical Director, will be joining the Anglo-Malagasy Society to tell the exciting story of Madagascar's locally led marine conservation revolution, starting with an experimental temporary fishery reserve in 2004 and expanding into a network of community-managed marine areas. He will also explain how integrating reproductive health services into the ongoing conservation initiatives is enabling couples to plan and better provide for their families, with a screening of Blue Ventures' new short film, "The Freedom to Choose: empowering communities to live with the sea".
This event includes a talk and celebration of Madagascar's Independence Day. The ticket price for this evening event includes a free bar and delicious Malagasy buffet.
