Kate started working with BV in 2010 as a Science Intern in London. She has a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of York, and an MSc in Marine Environmental Protection from Bangor University where she undertook her research in collaboration with BV and Louvain Développement, investigating both biological and socioeconomic aspects of the small-scale fisheries operating in Morondava, western Madagascar. Following this, she joined the Madagascar Expeditions team in Andavadoaka as a Field Scientist in December 2012 and progressed to the role of Velondriake Project Coordinator in January 2014.

Kate is responsible for overseeing our community conservation activities within the Velondriake LMMA, working closely with local communities to expand their protected area network and build capacity for monitoring, evaluation, and management of that network.
