Raymond Raherindray is a native of Fianarantsoa, but he grew up in Diego-Suarez in northern Madagascar. He has completed many scientific expeditions in both the north and southwest Madagascar. During his studies, he was a consultant for a shrimp farm and was responsible for conducting a seasonal assessment and monitoring waterfowl. After graduating from the Faculty of Science at the University of Antsiranana, he pursued six months of professional training on ecotourism and bio-management at the Marine Science Institute and the University of Toliara. Previously, Raymond has worked for the NGO Community Centred Conservation (C3) in Madagascar as Program Officer and Program Assistant. He is now joining the Blue Forests team in Ambanja as a Mangrove Carbon Scientist and he hopes to share his knowledge of and experience with mangrove conservation and assessments.
